Katie Doherty, Policy Director, The International Meat Trade Association

After completing a degree in International History at The London School of Economics Katie joined The International Meat Trade Association & National Association of Catering Butchers in 2012. The International Meat Trade Association represents importers, exporters and wholesalers of beef, lamb, pork and poultry meat operating around the world. IMTA believes two-way trade is essential in delivering carcass balance, food security and consumer choice.  The NACB represents the catering butchery sector and works to raise standards in this sector; promoting product quality, integrity and values from farm to fork.

Katie was made a director of the IMTA board in March 2017, responsible for establishing and promoting the policy of the association and acting deputy to the CEO. Much of her work has involved working closely with our European trade association UECBV in Brussels. Katie is currently studying towards a Diploma in World Customs Compliance and Regulations with The Institute of Export & International Trade.
