Having completed his training and a first experience in hospitality, Stéphane became a chef in 2002. In 2010, he was awarded with the title of the Best Artisan Chef in Belgium. This achievement inspired to open his own restaurant and by 2011 he had opened Maxens, a gastronomic restaurant near Mons (Belgium) - an adventure which continues to this day.

As a meat-lover, Stéphane is a member of the Mastercooks of Belgium, Chef's Irish Beef Club, Euro-Toques, la Chaîne des Rôtisseurs and Knight of the Clos Vougeot. Beef hold a central place in his restaurant. This is Stephane's first year as a judge at the World Steak Challenge and is very enthousiatic about this year's competition.
